04-30-11 Aftyn in White

Aftyn on her baptism day! What a very special day for a very special girl. Aftyn we are so proud of you and the decision that you made to get baptized.  We love you and admire the decision that you made at such a very young age of 8.  I am also very proud of your parents for teaching you about the things that are important in this life.  I just wanted to share some of the pictures of the people in Aftyn's life and how much they all care for her and her great family.  I am always amazed at how connected we become because of the children in our lives - thanks Aftyn for letting us be a part of your young life!

04-15-2011 Blake at the Aerospace Museum

Wow - how time does fly ( no pun intended).  Dennis and I took Blake to the museum at Hill Air Force in Utah for his birthday.  It was quite an exciting day.  We stopped at Smith and Edwards for a little break in driving and to stretch our legs and then we drove the rest of the way to the museum.  We spent 3 or 4 hours looking at the amazing display of helicopters, old planes, Air force jets - big and small.  Blake was totally in his element.  I truly believe we could have spent all day with him there and he would never have gotten tired.  It was fun to spend some one-on-one time with him and get to know his cute personality.  However, he does ask a lot of questions - he needed to know everything there was about the different types of planes.  (Oh, how would it be to be so young and inquisitive again).  I think we will probably go again in September when they let you get up inside some of the planes.  If anyone would like to go let us know and we will plan something together.

September 17- Food for Life Day 2011 Each year the museum stages an open house during which visitors can view our aircraft up close, even getting inside some of them! The suggested "admission price" is one item of non-perishable food (preferably canned), which goes to the Hill AFB Airmen's Attic food pantry. The event also includes the "Wings and Wheels Car Show" and many other fun things to see and do. The Air Force Association holds its annual Chili Cook-Off on the front lawn.
