Jill in Vegas September 21-24, 2010

Wow! I survived Las Vegas.  We stayed at the Red Rock Resort which was about 20 minutes off of the strip.  It was a gorgeous resort with beautiful swimming pools and accommodations.  In the room you could actually take a bath and watch TV at the same time.  It doesn't take much to impress me!

Here is a view of the swimming area from the 16th floor where we stayed.  We had a beautiful view of the Red Rock Mountains from our rooms.

Here is me relaxing at the pools!  We didn't get time to swim, but it felt good to go outside and get out of all the air conditioned rooms.  It was abut 95 degrees in Las Vegas.
On Thursday, Bob and Benita picked us up and we went down to the strip for dinner and to look around.  We found this very unusual trees at the Beligo.  They are made from willow trees I think.  They were incredible to look at.
Also, here is a picture of the famous tree face.  Isn't he just adorable to look at?
This is a "fish tree" - not really, I just saw it in a gift shop and thought it was unique.
This is a chocolate fountain that goes from the ceiling clear down to the floor.
And of course, you can't visit Vegas without at least seeing the casino's.  No, I did not gamble! This is my friend Linda from work and we went to the conference without our husbands.

At the conference we played this visualization game.  We each had different colored glow sticks and they would show colors on the screen and we were suppose to hold up the color that they said.  However, the color that they were showing was not the same color as what they were saying.  It was very confusing, but a lot of fun to see if people did what they heard or what they saw.

Oh, I just had to show this picture - this was next to the pools and I know how my grandkids like to play with "snake" grass.
At the conference the food was fabulous - here is a picture of what we had for dinner - the sirloin was sitting on a bed of mashed potatoes, surrounded by a asparagus and "something" yellow.  (It was very impressive).

Harvest Fest Idaho Falls 09-18-2010

What a fun day with the family!  Idaho Falls has a fall festival with vendors, activities for the kids and lots of food and games.  They had a free straw maze for the little kids to run around in and a stack of bales for photo opportunities - The kids did not like sitting on the bales - oh well, the pictures turned out cute.

Here is Aftyn trying to shoot - I am not sure how you hit anything with your eyes closed and not looking at the target???
The kids train had a train wreck - the wheel fell off and they had to make repairs.
Here is Alyssa and little Elizabeth - she did not like the train ride very much - the kids said that she screamed the whole way.
Here is a picture of all the kids on the straw bales - as you can see Hunter was not very happy - Abby seemed to be enjoying it, and Kaylee just couldn't see a thing.

Tyler - playing a good game of croquet in the backyard
Hunter - with his "Silly" shirt on
Exhausted adults
Aftyn in a tug-of-war
Hunter testing the water out

Blake - unfortunately fell in - at least his shirt was mesh and dried really fast
Tanner and Dennis holding Elizabeth - she was so cute
Abby riding the train
Kids learning about what a fire is really like in the "INL smoke trailer"
Wow - what a great day! and Happy Birthday to Tracy and Tyler!
