Wow! I survived Las Vegas. We stayed at the Red Rock Resort which was about 20 minutes off of the strip. It was a gorgeous resort with beautiful swimming pools and accommodations. In the room you could actually take a bath and watch TV at the same time. It doesn't take much to impress me!
Here is a view of the swimming area from the 16th floor where we stayed. We had a beautiful view of the Red Rock Mountains from our rooms.
Here is me relaxing at the pools! We didn't get time to swim, but it felt good to go outside and get out of all the air conditioned rooms. It was abut 95 degrees in Las Vegas.
On Thursday, Bob and Benita picked us up and we went down to the strip for dinner and to look around. We found this very unusual trees at the Beligo. They are made from willow trees I think. They were incredible to look at.
Also, here is a picture of the famous tree face. Isn't he just adorable to look at?
This is a "fish tree" - not really, I just saw it in a gift shop and thought it was unique.
This is a chocolate fountain that goes from the ceiling clear down to the floor.
And of course, you can't visit Vegas without at least seeing the casino's. No, I did not gamble! This is my friend Linda from work and we went to the conference without our husbands.
At the conference we played this visualization game. We each had different colored glow sticks and they would show colors on the screen and we were suppose to hold up the color that they said. However, the color that they were showing was not the same color as what they were saying. It was very confusing, but a lot of fun to see if people did what they heard or what they saw.
Oh, I just had to show this picture - this was next to the pools and I know how my grandkids like to play with "snake" grass.
At the conference the food was fabulous - here is a picture of what we had for dinner - the sirloin was sitting on a bed of mashed potatoes, surrounded by a asparagus and "something" yellow. (It was very impressive).
Looks like you had a lot of fun Jill! Those are some really fun pictures. Hopefully someday I can make it out to Las Vegas!
